Abstract

The digital transformation of education is increasingly driven by artificial intelligence (AI), offering significant opportunities to enhance learning experiences through personalized instruction, interactive content creation, and more inclusive approaches to education. AI technologies enable adaptive learning systems that respond to individual students’ needs, providing tailored feedback, learning pathways, and resources that support diverse learning styles and abilities. This article examines current applications of AI in schools, emphasizing practical insights from DigiEduHack Bratislava, an international hackathon that encourages the development of innovative educational solutions and promotes collaboration among students, educators, and technology experts. Additionally, the use of Genially.com is highlighted as a tool for creating interactive and AI-enhanced learning materials that foster student engagement and creativity. The paper further explores trends in AI integration within classrooms, discussing pedagogical benefits such as improved motivation, active participation, and enhanced critical thinking skills. It also addresses challenges, including ethical and legal considerations, data privacy, technological limitations, and the need for teacher training to ensure effective and responsible implementation. Finally, the article provides actionable recommendations for educators, schools, and policymakers, focusing on strategies to successfully incorporate AI tools into educational practice while maintaining a human-centred approach. By combining technological innovation with pedagogical principles, AI has the potential to improve learning outcomes, encourage creativity, and promote inclusive education, ensuring that digital transformation supports both students and teachers in meaningful ways.
