Abstract

SS304 stainless steel is one of the most widely used materials in engineering because of its great strength, toughness, and resistance to corrosion. It also has versatile mechanical properties. Factors like the number of inserts, depth of cut, cutting speed, feed rate, and cutting tool diameter greatly impact production rate, surface finish, energy use, and sustainable machining. Choosing the right process parameters during milling not only improves surface quality but also promotes energy-efficient manufacturing. The goal of machining has always been to create components with a better surface finish and lower energy consumption.
