Abstract

This study investigated the hardness and wear on DIN 1.2367 hot work tool steel after applying plasma nitriding processes under different conditions. The effect of the plasma nitriding process temperature and the N2:H2 gas mixture ratio was examined in the group of specimens investigated. In the plasma nitriding process applied to the group, the increase in the N2 ratio in the gas mixture significantly increased the hardness and wear properties of the material. In addition, the wear resistance of the specimen with the highest hardness value was increased.
